NO EAST COAST WINTER STORMS ARE CURRENTLY FORECASTED. When an East Coast Winter Storm is forecasted by the NOAA Global Forecast System (GFS) model, the forecasted storm positions and pressures are compared with a historical (1950-2007) climatology of over 700 storms to identify the five most similar ECWS based on their tracks and pressure observations. Tidal surge data corresponding to each storm are displayed for those gauges with available historical data.
